Small Things, Great Love
Back in the day I had an opportunity to make some handmade paper. In addition to some larger pieces, I made this tiny sheet of paper with natural edges and a few little hairs included (if I recall, we snipped a lock off one of the boys in the class for the experiment, poor guy). This piece languished among my (admittedly ridiculously large) collection of art supplies for many years before the quote came along looking for a bit of paper to be written on.
I painted the starry sky background onto one of my small canvases, and hadn’t decided what to do with it until I drew the earth with the quote by Mother Teresa. The pieces all came together to create this little painting.
The edges of this canvas board are finished, the image wrapping around to the sides to add a some extra dimension.
