Giveaway at Geeky Girls Knit

Geeky Girls Knit

The wonderful ladies over at the Geeky Girls Knit podcast are going to review some of my keen Etsy swag, and then give away a pile of goodies including cards, bookmarks, and even some stickers! There’s details on how to enter over on their blog — you do have to have a Ravelry account but even I have one, even though it’s boring.*

Head on over and give them a listen — if you’re a geek and a knitter, they’re a delight.

*Though if anyone wants to knit me that skull cable sweater in my favourites…

Prints, prints, prints!

Prints, prints, prints!

I took December off because it was a very busy time for the Sending of Packages, but in January I totally did my giveaway drawing and sent out a prize! My lucky winner got 3 full-size Sherlock prints, plus a small 5″x7″ print of this art. I completely forgot to take a photo before I sealed up the poster tube, so I’m only mostly sure that it was these prints and not 3 completely different ones.

Anyway, If you’re on my list, make sure you’ve given me your address! I’ll be doing another drawing in a few days, and someone will get a nice little February surprise in the mail.

Success!

the back of the package sent to my lucky winner

the back of the package sent to my lucky winner

I did my first-ever email list giveaway this month, and it was a success! The darling Midori got her package and was very squeeful about the plethora of goodies inside.

The giveaway thing started out as an excuse for me to send more mail — people on my email list can opt to give me their snail mail addresses to get entered in a monthly drawing. I’m also going to try to get some birthday cards going out, and maybe something special for next Halloween (my favorite holiday!).

I wanted to give generously and not just one or two things — something that would really bring delight and awesome happiness to my people. The splendidly wicked Evil Supply Co.* sends out a bunch of freebies every month, and after winning a whole Mr. Ghost’s Monthly Parcel (The Raven!) and being totally shocked at the amount of swag in there, I wanted to pass that feeling on to my beloved readers, customers, and patrons.

ALL the swag

ALL the swag

In addition to cards, bookmarks, gift tags, and some of my awesome Moo minicards**, there’s a couple of things you can’t get anywhere else — stickers, prints, and one of my even awesomer square Moo cards, which are like high-quality mini art prints.

The Courtship of Julian St. Albans

The Courtship of Julian St. Albans by Amy Crook

The Courtship of Julian St. Albans by Amy Crook

I wrote a book! Okay, this is actually the fourth novel I’ve written, but it’s the first one that’s polished to my satisfaction. I self-published it using Amazon CreateSpace, so it’s only available on Amazon. Traditional publishing is undergoing a huge change right now and I’m really too busy being an artist to also put a lot of effort into being an author. But, I love writing, and I wrote a book, so look! I made this!

Alexander Benedict is a misanthropic thirtysomething magical consultant, working with the Agency’s top homicide detective, and perfectly content with his life, thank you very much.

Julian St. Albans is the youthful heir to his family’s fortune and affiancéd to his beloved Cecil Mandeville, a family friend as well as Julian’s lover.

When Mandeville is murdered using magical means, Alex is brought in on the case. It’s the worst day of Julian’s life, but until they meet, it’s just another case for Alex. Neither of them have any idea how their lives are about to change.

Alex has to disentangle the magical threads until he can catch the murderer, and to do that he has to put himself right in the thick of things. His long-denied family connections get him invited to participate in Julian’s Courtship as a Suitor, where he can observe the suspects firsthand. He just has to stay alive long enough to figure out which of the competition thinks Julian is a prize worth killing for.

Want to win a signed copy?

I’m giving away a signed copy to one lucky winner who comments here on this post! The one in the photos is my proof, but I have a few real copies on the way and you’ll get one of those.

I’ll close the contest in a week, and announce the winner on Wednesday.

You can also get the ebook free!

If you’ve got Amazon Prime, you can borrow it for free anytime. But, just through the end of today you can also get the Kindle version free, period.
