Portal parody Valentine by Amy Crook

Portal parody Valentine by Amy Crook

For Sunday, rather than a sketch I’ve got my last Valentine, which has no original art at all. I created the heart-shaped “portals” in Illustrator and the put the card together on the computer, so the card is the only way to express your geeky love to your other half.

meh Puppy t-shirt design by Amy Crook

meh Puppy t-shirt design by Amy Crook

I actually drew this little guy on my whiteboard a few weeks ago, and I was so fond of him I redrew him in Illustrator and put him on a t-shirt. Personally I have enough t-shirts to choke a small elephant, but I might have to buy one of him anyway, since there are just a lot of meh days to go around and my sad panda shirt can’t do all the heavy lifting.

meh Puppy, Adobe Illustrator & Wacom tablet.

Weeble Wednesday: Moody Businessman by Amy Crook

Weeble Wednesday: Moody Businessman by Amy Crook

Once long ago I considered trying to make some vector stock art to sell on one of those stock art sites, and this little guy was one of my earliest weebles. Obviously, I’ve since given that up — the finicky requirements of doing vector art for stock uses just drove me batty. My moody businessman lives on as an example of how I really prefer natural media, though I keep myself from totally losing all my skills by occasionally doing something like my Super-Cute Squid.

Batik pattern by Amy Crook

Batik pattern by Amy Crook

Busy busy busy! I’m on a deadline, so I haven’t had time to get something scanned for today.

This is a batik-like pattern I created that never got used — you can see it repeating on a page here. I used Illustrator to make the shapes and get it to repeat cleanly.

It’d make a pretty neat fabric, I suppose, not that there’s not a ton of things just like it out there already, heh.

Super Cute Squid Redux, Now With Vectors!

Super Cute Squid illustration by Amy Crook

Super Cute Squid illustration by Amy Crook

If you remember the sketch I posted a while back, this guy will seem awfully familiar. I wanted to do something polished with him, so I busted out my little-used Adobe Illustrator skills and drew him up.

I’m thinking he might need to be cards or t-shirts, what do you think?

Super Cute Squid Redux, vector art, not for sale (because he’s only virtual!).

At least if he’s not real, he’s got a friend to be virtual with him.
