Sharpie Tea and Jammie Dodger by Amy Crook

Sharpie Tea and Jammie Dodger by Amy Crook

My friend Sarah gave me a prompt for a cup of tea and a biscuit (meaning cookie, of course), and so I drew tea and a Jammie Dodger, which are delicious British biscuits. I know it’s hot most everywhere in the US right now, but I’m sure someone, somewhere would love a hot cuppa and a tasty treat.

Sharpie Happy Cake by Amy Crook

Sharpie Happy Cake by Amy Crook

Happy 4th of July, aka Independence Day here in the states! I thought this cake would be fun for basically any occasion one needs to be happy. Personally, just surviving another Thursday is a pretty good reason, if you ask me.

Sharpie Gorse Blossoms by Amy Crook

Sharpie Gorse Blossoms by Amy Crook

This one is for my friend Caroline, who didn’t precisely prompt it but will understand why it’s for her. I like the bright little flowers coming out of the spiky gorse greenery, plus, it was fun to draw.

Sharpie Cthulhu on a Unicorn Fighting With Bacon Man by Amy Crook

It’s Tentacle Tuesday and Sharpie Week, and so you get this utter weirdness as prompted by my friend Nathan. All right, the blueberry pancake shield and butter knife were all me, but the rest was all his idea. Which I drew, because of reasons.

Sharpie Hungover Owl by Amy Crook

Sharpie Hungover Owl by Amy Crook

I’m going to be off for most of this week, and I’ve been running behind for most of the past couple of weeks before this, so you get a Sharpie Week! I asked for prompts on various venues, and this was sort of my friend Kira’s idea. She asked for an owl, and I’m the one who decided it needed to be a hungover owl. I mean, it is Monday.

Sunday Round-Up & Plant sketch

a whole week full of the artses

a whole week full of the artses

A whole week with no skipped days, whee! Monday a stingray swam into the sunlight for us, and Tuesday we dove deeper to look at Cthulhu’s house-anemone. Wednesday I showed off a preview of some of my many works in progress. Thursday there was a visit from Captain Jack Harkness, and Friday another fairytale sky made its appearance. Saturday three obedient service dogs showed off their harnesses for a client.

And now it’s Sunday, and I have another houseplant for you! This one in a proper pot, though its leaves are mysteriously see-through, showing a grey shadow of the pot wherever they cross paths.

3 Service Dogs by Amy Crook for Action Leashes

commission – all rights reserved

After I put these guys on my illustration commissions page, I totally forgot about posting them properly, oops! This trio of doggies were for a coloring book about service animals, and you can see they’re sporting a variety of service harnesses as examples. I have to admit, I found it harder to realistically draw dogs than I do to draw stick-figure humans, but once I got my eyes used to the idea, they came out quite clearly.

3 Service Dogs, 3 5″x7″ pen & ink drawings on paper, nfs (commission). All rights to this art are reserved for the client – no stealing the doggies!
