Sunday Round-Up & Minion Sketch

a week full of cartoons and things. but mostly cartoons.

a week full of cartoons and things. but mostly cartoons.

I had a tiring week of getting up early and doing ALL the things. How about you? Monday I posted a soaring bird of prey, and Tuesday Gonzo made a new friend. Wednesday the delightful Tara Swiger talked about her commissioned art. Thursday Lestrade showed up in the Giant Rats book to relieve Sherlock’s boredom, and Saturday John tormented Sherlock by demanding common courtesy in exchange for tea.

Today I have a little sketch I started while I was pretending to be a cat, and then finished after pretending to be a Muppet. This is my newest dorky fannish obsession — Gru’s Minions from Despicable Me 1&2! The minions are the best part of those movies.

Sunday Round-Up & Shudde M’el Sketch

Sunday, August 4th, 2013

art, art everywhere!

art, art everywhere!

Another busy week, whew! Monday I did a long-overdue sequel to Growth, and Tuesday I finished an actual painting on canvas. Wednesday I updated you on the State of the Artist. Thursday another Uncanny Fear came out to haunt us, and Friday I switched gears with some silly clip art dingbats. Saturday John was grateful, if a bit reluctantly.

For today’s sketch, we have someone’s weird coloring book addition, and one of the Lovecraft Mythos critters that kicked our butts one of the last times we played Arkham Horror, Shudde M’el.

He's kind of like a sandworm that just sits on you until you die.

Sunday Round-Up & Doctor Donna Sketch

A full week chock full of fullness. Also, art.

A full week chock full of fullness. Also, art.

What a week! I had a bit of flu the week before and early this week, so I wasn’t sure I’d manage to get you a whole week of art, but I squeaked by. Whew. Monday I indulged in a pencil drawing of another of my own characters. Tuesday there weren’t tentacles, but there was an abandoned city on some alien planet, so, close enough. Wednesday I found 3 watercolors that I love and reminded you that they’re waiting for new homes. Thursday there were more strange stars, and Friday Bilbo got an overabundance of flowers. Saturday we shared a lovely view from the TARDIS.

Today’s sketch is another TARDIS-y one, which was a thank-you gift for a lovely patron who bought some Doctor Who art. I might redo it into a proper bit of art one of these weeks, what do you think?

"Are you sure this is safe?" "Just enjoy it!" "That's what they all say."

Sunday Round-Up & Kitty Sketch

a tentacular week of art

a tentacular week of art

Another week, another bunch of art! Monday we aimed for the third star on the right and went straight on ’til yesterday. Tuesday there were spiral tentacles, and Wednesday there were crocheted tentacles. Thursday Sherlock got the Gorey treatment as page 1 of my new book project. Friday there was very tentacle-like black iron filigree, and Saturday Cthulhu wanted hugs.

Pod decided to decorate an order going out, so today’s little Sharpie doodle is him asking for consideration with regards to bent packages.

Sunday Round-Up & Dr. John’s Thermometer sketch

a very full week indeed, with a novel and everything

a very full week indeed, with a novel and everything

This week, lots of things! Monday I posted art from the cover of my new novel, wot I self-published myself and stuff, and Tuesday I posted a giveaway of one hard copy of the book, so if you haven’t commented there you should! Wednesday the wonderful Jo VanEvery agreed to talk about how she uses my illustrations in her business. Thursday we gazed up at the Milky Way, and Friday there were mysterious silver swirls. Saturday Captain Jack Harkness came along to cheer us all up, and now it’s time for a sketch!

John Watson reminds Sherlock he’s a doctor, and is not putting up with any of Sherlock’s whinging about being sick. He’s got no problem doing this the hard way.

Sunday Round-Up & Plant sketch

a whole week full of the artses

a whole week full of the artses

A whole week with no skipped days, whee! Monday a stingray swam into the sunlight for us, and Tuesday we dove deeper to look at Cthulhu’s house-anemone. Wednesday I showed off a preview of some of my many works in progress. Thursday there was a visit from Captain Jack Harkness, and Friday another fairytale sky made its appearance. Saturday three obedient service dogs showed off their harnesses for a client.

And now it’s Sunday, and I have another houseplant for you! This one in a proper pot, though its leaves are mysteriously see-through, showing a grey shadow of the pot wherever they cross paths.

Sunday Round-Up and Doctor Watson sketch

Sunday, June 23rd, 2013

it's been a week, there's been art

it’s been a week, there’s been art

I hope you’re having a lovely Sunday! Time for the usual week in review. Monday there were some pretty periwinkle flowers, and Tuesday a trio of squid went dancing on by. Thursday I started a new series, and creeped you all out with a mirror. Friday there was a kobold making curry, and Saturday the periwinkle came back with Sherlock on it this time.

And, of course, there’s a sketch to finish off the week. This time Dr. Watson is fed up with a certain whiny patient, and is going to get a temperature no matter how much he protests.

Open wide or drop trou, your choice, Sherlock.
