July 2024 Patreon Sketches

There was a bat in our basement! It appears to have left on its own, but man, what a random ending to the week. Before all that, I spent the day on sketch cards! Everything is watercolor this time around because reasons.

There’s actually a 10th card, but it’s a spoiler for the cover of A Flutter of Fae, which is now with my beta readers, with its plot all fixed and some fresh typos for their pleasure of discovery.

I wrote a LOT of words last month (over 50K!) on the new Consulting Magic book, so these were a little late, but I got ’em done. Enjoy!
- Amber asked me to do “the artist in residence” (me) so I went a little ridiculous with it. (sold)
- Jefferson prompted “barcodes on the brain” and really I don’t know what else you could expect from me. (sold)
- Nick wanted a baby Chocobo.
- Amy B said “grumple” which I decided was “grumpy skrunkle” and there he is. (sold)
- Catherine asked for a Princess Fish.
- Deandra asked for the Queen Bees from To Hive and to Hold, and I did the more alien-looking one, only I’m just not great at translating them from my brain so you know, don’t take her as canon lol.
- Kelly wanted a cat + dragon, and gets this draconic kitty. (sold)
- Eric asked for Cloud Strife in a dress, and, welp, here he is! (sold)

It’s spring here, and mostly that means sinus headaches, whee. I had fun with these Patreon supporter sketches, though, especially the addition to my 100 Cats series. Which is almost done! I hope you’re having a lovely May, and aren’t actually a cylon.

- Amy B asked for a monkey, and gets this napping weirdo. (sold)
- Jefferson asked for a cylon, and gets the true leader of them. Cats, after all, do things by no one’s command. (sold)
- Rey prompted “frak you, pay me!” and got a slightly abstract being of pure fiery righteousness, shaking their fist at the powers above, finished work at their back. (sold)
- Eric asked for Willow, and I couldn’t resist drawing Jade, because her hair is amazing, her freckles are amazing, and her grumpiness is amazing. I don’t know what happened here but I’d be grumpy, too, tbh. (sold)
