Sherlock meets Octopus sharpie sketch by Amy Crook

Sharpie week continues! It was pointed out that I ought to keep to my Tentacle Tuesday tradition, and Sherlock volunteered to help. This one is exceptionally silly, I blame the fever.

Sharpie Week: Lobster Pot Pie

Lobster Pot Pie sharpie sketch by Amy Crook

Allergy season is over, and so, I have a head cold! Normally I would spend Sunday scheduling art posts and guaranteeing you all a week of awesomeness, but this week I’m sick and Photoshop and I aren’t speaking over color matching differences. So, my solution? You get a week of Sharpie Marker doodles.

Now, I am running a fever, so I’m not silly enough to do these without a little bit of penciling, but overall I don’t think I spent more than 15 minutes on any of them from start to finish.

If you’re wondering about the subject matter, you can blame my friends for that — I asked them what to draw and they made suggestions. Though the bite I had of my friend’s lobster pot pie on Saturday night was very tasty, so I suppose it does deserve to be immortalized.

A couple of people asked me about gift tags this year, so I took 5 of my favorite holiday cards and turned them into tags! They’re printed on parchment cardstock, with a hole punched for easy attaching. 15 cards in a pack, either all one thing or an assortment of 3 each, and shipping’s free.

You can pick them up at my Etsy shop during the holidays!

Kitties Visit Baker St.

Kitties Visit Baker St. cartoon by Amy Crook

This little commission was done for a request of John & Sherlock playing with my kitties, so Belladonna (left) and Pteropodidae (right) go to take a little trip to Baker Street. Bella’s fully recovered from her tooth drama, and has found John a comfy, warm place to look annoyed about being petted. Sherlock has, predictably, decided to experiment with Pod and a laser pointer (he also refuses to call Pod by anything other than his full name).

All in all it was fun do draw cartoon versions of my kitties, and of course I always enjoy John & Sherlock.

Kitties Visit Baker St., 7″x5″ pen and ink on paper, not for sale, commission.

This pumpkin is not impressed with your carving skills, nor with his un-timely posting. But he’s just so cute!

Crayon Duckies, commissioned art by Amy Crook

Crayon Duckies by Amy Crook, commission

They’re not quite weebles, but every once in a while I get to do something so awesome for a client I can’t help but share. These were drawn with actual crayons for a client’s promotion involving dressed-up Halloween rubber duckies. Illustration clients ftw!

Squidtini

Squidtini, cartoon by Amy Crook

Squidtini by Amy Crook

My friend, G, is a big fan of both gin and squid, so one night I drew up this little guy with her in mind. He’s even made friends with the olive, which he’s got clutched in his feeder tentacles, though the gin’s given him a bit of a blush on his fins and cheeks. This little squid is sloshed!

Squidtini, 5″x7″ pen and ink and Copic markers on paper.

I think it would make a great invitation to a New Year’s dinner party, so I made cards for my Etsy shop.
