30 Day Marker Challenge, part 3
Tuesday, April 25th, 2017
The amazing Sadynax gave herself a 30-day Marker Challenge last month, and I decided to do it for April to help get back in the swing of art after my surgery. Three weeks and counting I’ve managed some daily art, hooray!
I’m giving my wonderful Patreon supporters some bonuses at the $5+ sketch levels this month, so it’s a good time to become a patron!

30 Day Marker Challenge, part 1

The amazing Sadynax gave herself a 30-day Marker Challenge last month, and I decided to do it for April to help get back in the swing of art after my surgery. Each day had its own weird quirks, and I think I already know which one I’m gonna redo for day 30, haha.

I Am Not Here to Please You

The Doubleclicks got 50 women and non-binary artists to illustrate their amazing video for Women Know Math, and I got to be part of it! I am absolutely in love with this song, the video, and everything it has to say.
Although they licensed the art for this specific use, the original is up for grabs in all its cat-filled glory. A rare self-portrait by the artist, with special guest appearances by Podsworth and Belladonna, this drawing bursts out of its boundaries with glorious movement and joy.
Above, there is possibly the most accurate drawing I’ve ever made of Belladonna, and some pj pants I only wish I owned. Below, you can see this drawing framed, including the very faint pencil reminder up in the top portion with the text I was meant to using.

Four for a Boy
Monday, February 6th, 2017
Mist obscures everything in this painting but the outline of a gnarled, drooping tree, branches bare in winter with just the tiniest hint of buds at their ends. Four black birds approach through the fog, and a figure all but dissolves into mist himself.
Is it foggier than it looks, or is the figure merely a trick of the eye?
This fourth installment of Counting Crows would make a lovely, creepy addition to your home, something to contemplate when the sun has burned away the mists of the day.
Above, you can see the eerie figure staring out from the mists, surrounded by the tree’s bare branches. Below, the piece is safely in a frame, just waiting to find the right house to haunt.

Le Chat Gris

A third Animal Spirit joins the fox and bunny with this lovely cat.
There’s a saying that all cats are grey in the dark, and this beautiful moggy glows pearly white and grey in the light of a golden harvest moon. The gold is reflected in the cat’s eyes, which hold a little of their own shine.
Bring beauty and whimsy into your home and adopt this grey kitty — you’ll never have to feed it!
Above, you can really see the sunlight hitting the pearlescent white of the cat’s intricate patterning. Below, they’re elegantly framed and just waiting for the right wall, shelf, or nook.

Advent 2016, week 4

2016 is almost over!
To celebrate the end of this terrible year, I drew one sketch every day. They’re in various media on cheap-but-archival 5.5″x8.5″ embossed white cards. Some of these will be available as cards, some of them will be in a special sale for my email list next month, and some of them are already spoken for.
I had the flu and then a cold for most of December, so pardon some of the weirdness. I’m mostly well now, except for a bit of a lingering cough. Wish me luck in not catching anything else for awhile!
Happy New Year!
