Flying Polyp sketch
Sunday, June 10th, 2012
This is a completely ridiculous sketch of a totally bizarre monster from Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos.
That guy had issues, man. Issues.
Happy Sunday!

Mother Hydra Weds Father Dagon
Saturday, May 26th, 2012
When I was done coloring this and Monday’s zombies, I realized that I’d managed to do only 2 drawings, but color 4 figures with 7 heads between them. Whew!
This one was also done specifically to be a card, this time to bring a little Cthulhu to your wedding season. Dagon is the big bad from Shadows Over Innsmouth, and while Lovecraft’s Hydra doesn’t get a lot of description, it was easy to adapt the classic many-headed monster of myth to this purpose. I especially enjoy the boutonniere pinned straight to Dagon’s chest.
Yeah, I’m a little morbid.

Mother Hydra
Saturday, March 17th, 2012
I’ve taken some liberties here and used a more classic interpretation of a hydra, rather than the Lovecraftian description of Father Dagon’s bride. There’s just no way to make a vast pool of screaming faces cute, really.
As it is, I can totally imagine at least one of her heads yelling, “No more wire hangers!” She’s even got pearls and lovely pink-painted claws nails.
Just don’t mention the screaming faces and monstrous claws pressing against her heavy, pregnant belly. Or think about what sort of monsters she’s the mother of, if you want to sleep tonight.

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012
They’re almost ready!
Shannon Henry of Polymath Design Lab has been working with me to create a pair of awesome laser-cut necklaces. Cthulhu is in hand-dyed green leather, and the spiderweb (below) is made of black acrylic. We’re taking pre-orders for the first run, which will ship in March.

Cthulhu Dreams of Love
Tuesday, January 10th, 2012
Cthulhu gets a Valentine! Of course his love-dreams could be for a birthday, anniversary or just because, but it’s that season and I drew him with that in mind.
That said, my favorite part is the button-eyed Hound of Tindalos plush toy. He’s holding its paw! Aww, Cthulhu, we never knew you were such a softie.

Cthulhu with a Kitten doodle
Friday, December 30th, 2011
Another little Coloring Book doodle! Cthulhu is quite dubious that he’s not supposed to eat the kitten, but I’m sure he’ll come around.
Happy New Year!

Old-Fashioned Ornaments, set 2
Friday, December 23rd, 2011
Pardon the terrible photography, I’ll try to take a better one when the sun’s back up. I finally managed to assemble my second set of old-fashioned paper ornaments, this one with slightly different art. I kept the star but hung it at a different angle, and then made Cthulhu himself and an Elder Sign (Lovecraft style) to go with it.
These ornaments are a huge pain to make, but it’s almost fun in that way where it appeals to my meticulous nature, so I might make a few extra sets next year. We’ll see!
