qt3.14s, James Bond and Q parody art by Amy Crook

qt3.14s, 5″x7″ pen & ink and Copic marker on paper

Tan, blonde Bond and pale, curly-haired Q are celebrating their love with puns, the little cutie pies. This simple, bold chibi style brings maximum adorableness to this pair!

You can send someone else your love and support with this grin-inducing greeting card, too.

Latibulize, word art by Amy Crook

Latibulize: to retire into a hiding-place or retreat,
pen & ink and Copic marker on paper – $25

A good word for a day when the world is too much, and all you want to do is hide under a blankie (book optional).

And just for fun, here it is with the hiding-space color-reversed to make a nice cosy cave.

Ariadne and Yusuf, Inception parody art by Amy Crook

Ariadne & Yusuf, 5″x7″ pen & ink and Copic marker on paper

Someone asked me to make a bookmark set out of the Arthur and Eames art from Inception, and so I bring you two more of the fascinating secondary characters. Ariadne is the architect who builds worlds and mazes for their dreams, and Yusuf is the chemist who finds ways to put them under and still get their kick in the end.

Librocubicularist

Librocubicularist, word art by Amy Crook

Librocubicularist: one who reads in bed,
5″x7″ pen & ink and Copic marker on paper

I had a lot of choices for who to draw here, but in the end Hermione seemed like the perfect embodiment of this hard-to-pronounce* word.

Besides, it gave me a chance to draw an unflattering cat selfie of Crookshanks, which is a joy not to be underestimated.

Are you a librocubicularist? I am, every night without fail!

*Seriously, so hard to pronounce.

Arthur and Eames bookmarks

Eames & Arthur bookmarks, Inception parody art by Amy Crook

Eames & Arthur bookmarks, Inception parody art

I actually drew these ages ago for a commission, with grumpy Arthur glaring at a smirking Eames, but due to a hiccup with my scanner and some subsequent fighting with Photoshop, I didn’t get around to posting them.

Eames’ shirt has a lovely pattern in the orange, and his coat suggests a hint of tweed. Arthur’s wearing an elegant windowpane check, subtly patterned tie in a complementary grey, and a cream shirt that sets off his scowl.

Selcouth, word art & Star Wars fan art by Amy Crook

Selcouth: unfamiliar, unusual; strange, marvelous, wonderful,
7″x5″ pen & ink on paper – $70

This was the word art for May the Fourth, aka Star Wars day! Selcouth seemed to perfectly fit the fantastical world that was at once strange, marvelous, and wonderful, and of course BB-8 wanted to guest star as the perfect avatar of all of the above.

Come join me tomorrow on Periscope (starts around 2-3pm Pacific) and see what new word gets brought to life!

Tea: Molly Hooper, Sherlock parody art by Amy Crook

Tea: Molly Hooper, 5″x7″ pen & ink and Copic marker on paper

One of my favourite patrons commissioned me to draw a series of 4 little comic portraits of her favourite characters with their favourite teas. Favourites all around!

This last piece in the Tea Series features the adorkable Molly Hooper, the pathologist from whose morgue Sherlock keeps borrowing all manner of unpleasant items. She’s got a soothing cup of Darjeeling, probably to help her nerves after one of Sherlock’s visits.
