Weeble Wednesday: Cthulhu has a Coloring Book!
Wednesday, October 27th, 2010
Encouraged by the success of my Lovecraft-themed greeting cards on Etsy, I decided to up the ante this season and make a whole coloring book! There’s a few weebles you’ve already seen, and a bunch you haven’t — I even did a whole new Cthulhu for the cover (plus he’s on page 1 for your coloring pleasure).
There’s a whole bunch of adorably creepy creatures from the stories of HP Lovecraft and the other authors who’ve played in his Mythos over the years, plus a small mob of bonus Zombies.
You can get the Cthulhu Coloring Book on Etsy, either as a pdf or a printed book.
You see what he has to put up with?

Whiteboard Doodles
Sunday, October 3rd, 2010
I got a whiteboard! Well, a stick-on whiteboard, which I’ve put on the back of the linen closet door.
I also acquired a rather odd assortment of marker colors, though I’ve bought a more normal set to supplement with now. The bright ’80s turquoise especially was hard to photograph, so it’ll be nice to have some boring blue.
Today I thought I’d share some of the silly doodles I’ve done on the whiteboard, with the to-do lists, reminder notes and other randomness carefully cropped out.
Sorry about the picture quality, poor lighting + iPhone camera = even more meh than usual.

Weeble Cthulhu
Sunday, July 25th, 2010
As promised, I’m reposting Weeble Cthulhu from earlier this year so he’s hiding in amongst my daily art for those seeking out my (so far rather small) series of Lovecraftian weebles. He’s got his pet Shoggoth with him with his bowl of cultist snacks and everything.
I made a greeting card out of him for Valentine’s Day that said, “Cthulhu wanted to give you a heart, but they were all too small and squishy.” They sold so well I took off the “Happy Valentine’s Day” and have left them up on the shop ever since.

Weeble Wednesday: The Innsmouth Look
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010
It’s beginning to look a lot like Fishmen! I’ve decided to do a whole series of Weeble Mythos creatures, to go with Weeble Cthulhu with his Shoggoth — who apparently I posted as a wallpaper but never gave their own post, oops. Sunday, maybe!
Lovecraft’s classic story Shadows Over Innsmouth has inspired a lot of art, writing and video since, and this is my interpretation of the creepy Deep One who’s nearly through with his transformation. I’ve been thinking of putting him on a card or print (he’s currently trapped in a sketchbook so his original isn’t for sale), what do you think?
I’m thinking perhaps Father Dagon & Mother Hydra next, or perhaps Hastur.

Cthulhu Egg
Sunday, April 25th, 2010
I wanted to make some Easter-ish cards this year, but I found myself resisting the idea of hearts and flowers and happy little bunnies. So, after doing a more standard Easter egg sort of card, I allowed myself to do something a little more to my own tastes.
This image is extremely loosely based on the works of HP Lovecraft, and the horrific Elder God Cthulhu, who waits and slumbers in R’lyeh, down under the vasty deeps. Mostly it’s just a little tentacle monster hatching to give someone an unpleasant surprise.
