100 Cats no.1-10

A long, long time ago – okay, in the first quarter of 2023 – I did a big art project where I painted or drew 1 cat (almost) every day, until I had 100 cat paintings. It took me a long time to properly scan, process, and ready all those images for you, but believe it or not, they’re only just now ready to share here.
I shared the whole thing on Patreon as it was happening, but they’re used to my badly edited phone photos by now! I wanted these nicer for posterity, which ended up making them so, so late.
At some point I’d like to revisit this project with 100 birds, but for now, enjoy your first 10 cats!

November 2024 Patron Sketches

I’m gonna have some actual full-size art to show y’all pretty soon, but for now here’s another batch of sketch cards from Patreon!
- Jefferson asked for, “That trick never works!” and gets a crow peeking out of an orange magician’s top hat. (sold)
- Amy B wanted a cosy mole in a waistcoat, and I gave him a cup of tea and a jaunty bowler hat, which has somehow made him look like a Loony Tunes villain, or at least a henchmole. (sold)
- Kelly wanted autumn/fall, and having a leaf to do later, I decided on this cosy purrito objecting to the changing weather. I think autumn was about 11 seconds long this year, so my mood has gone straight to winter, sorry! (sold)
- This crow is the first of three bonus cards! I did some gloomy, rainy autumn/winter backgrounds and then let myself play. (nfs)
- Bonus Crow the Second, with a trio and a tree.
- Bonus Crow the Third, just one jaunty corvid and a different tree.
- SaraBeth asked for Solidarity and gets some Pride-themed word art. (sold)
- Eric wanted a favorite cup of tea, and this is one of my favorite impractical teacups that I own, filled with sweet, milky Earl Grey. (sold)
- Andria asked for the perfect autumn leaf, and I think doing this first stole all of my fall feeling, lol. (sold)
A lovely end to the year, all watercolors and my fancy new pencils!

I ended up doing these guys a little late for the inevitable holiday cold reasons, but I had a really fun mix of prompts this time, at least!
- Nick asked for “kissmas” after some book he likes, and gets the blorbos from my upcoming Goblin Market book instead. Sorry not sorry.
- Andria wanted a confused jack-o-lantern.
- Eric asked for “The Ballad” and I had fun fading this out on the left like the world in Coraline when she tries to walk away and instead walks around. (sold)
- Kelly wanted hellfire, so I painted some fun flames and added a few lost souls for ambience. (sold)
- SaraBeth asked for Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, and I went for the smaller version because it’s just cuter. (sold)
- Amy B wanted an autumnal Pod, and in autumn all Pod wants is warms.
- Rebecca W said of course she still loves Pod (who was the cat on that post, iirc) and so I experimented a little with light and form and color for her. (sold)

There was a bat in our basement! It appears to have left on its own, but man, what a random ending to the week. Before all that, I spent the day on sketch cards! Everything is watercolor this time around because reasons.
